Project Area C: Polyelectrolyte interactions in complex bio environments
In area C the most complex systems will be studied and modelled, based on results obtained in A and B. C1 deals with polyelectrolyte-blood interactions whereas C2 aims to unravel the potential of polysulfates for the treatment of inflammatory conditions. The central questions to be addressed are the role of oligo- and multivalent sulfates in inflammatory diseases and the influence of polyelectrolytes on blood coagulation. Close collaboration with area A and B ensures that the role of polyelectrolytes can be elucidated in these systems down to the molecular level.
